Shoebury Confectionery is an established company, founded in 1977, and
specialises in the manufacture of a unique type of confectionery, known by many
names around the world:

Honeycomb, Cinder Toffee, Sponge Candy, Hokey Pokey
Toffee Honeycomb, Puff Candy, Seafoam Candy

So! What exactly is it?

This golden coloured confection has a crisp exterior with a firm but sponge-like texture inside that melts into pure heaven on your tongue. It has a sweet malted flavour that defies comparison with other confection, and is so delicious that it requires great willpower and is almost impossible to stop eating after just one piece.

It comes plain or coated with tasty milk chocolate. Plain Honeycomb has no artificial colourings or flavourings and no E numbers, so is safer to eat than many other sweets. It has even been said to aid indigestion problems, though we certainly cannot confirm this point!! What we will say is that it is absolutely scrumptious!

How is it made?

Basically, there are three main ingredients. Sugar, Glucose (GM free) and Raising Agent. These three main ingredients are blended together by hand, following a traditional Old English Recipe. It is by hand-making this sweet that we are able to maintain the consistency of aeration inside, giving its unique texture and look.
